I am an artist living in Cambridge Massachusetts who enjoys blending both my love for art and science. As a child, I watched my dad, an artist and engineer,  paint, sculpt, draw, and build. I also accompanied him on many weekly excursions to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston which forged my early interest in art. However, it wasn't until I was much older that I began painting and drawing in earnest.

I  worked for many years as a research scientist in molecular biology at the Harvard Biological Laboratories before transitioning to work in their art, medical, and science libraries. At the  Countway Library of Medicine, I was inspired by the flawless medical illustrations of Netter. At the Fine Arts Library, I was exposed to many art publications, and images, and studied art history. Finally, in my position at the Harvard Herbaria, I was inspired by the extensive collection of botanical illustrations housed in the Botany Archives.

I have been inspired by many artists over the years and I have copied their work to teach myself new techniques. I am still new to the craft and the items on this website are a combination of originals, copies, and loose interpretations and are intended for study purposes only.

In addition to medical and scientific illustration, I like to create images that are pleasant, and peaceful,  and encourage a positive change of mood.

Enjoy!
